Vishwakarma Institute of Technology

Vishwakarma institute of technology (VIT) is one of the premier technical institutes of high repute in the country. The institute traces its existence way back in the year 1983. In these 26 years, ever since its inception, the institute has grown from an undergraduate institute to a research centric research along with well established Post graduate programs. VIT offers conducive and virtual environment for studies. It also undertakes student exchange program with reputed international universities. Various research projects are included in every yearÂ’s curriculum so that students gain an in-depth knowledge of the subjects. VIT aims at an overall development of students and it also conducts personality development programs through music yoga etc. the institute has earned immense recognition at the international level as well. In fact, it is the first private unaided technical institute in Maharashtra to receive the status of academic autonomy, conferred upon by the University of Pune.

Location Information
Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT) has a good location in terms of accessibility, but not in terms of locality. It is located in Bibvewadi, towards the southern extreme of Pune and is a 5-7 minute climb from the main road where the PMT buses drop you. The approach road makes you feel like you're on a pilgrimage, climbing your way to the temple for 'darshan' with colourful shops lined up on both sides of the road selling general stuff instead of flowers and sweets.
Library
The Central Library of Vishwa karma Institute of Technology was established in 1984. The main object of Central library is to support the educational & research programmes of the Institute by providing physical and intellectual access to information, consistent with the present and the anticipated educational and research functions of the institute.
The Central library consists of Reference Section, Journal Section, Reading Hall and Stack-Room. The library has unique collection of Encyclopedia, Handbooks, Textbooks, Journals, Video Cassettes, CD ‘S, B.I.Standards, Video courses etc. The library uses SLIM 21 software. This software consists of modules of Acquisitions, Cataloguing Circulation, Serial Control, Article Indexing and WEB OPAC. Circulation system of books is based on Bar- Code.

Merchantile Club
The Economics & Finance Club of VIT, Pune is a student driven and faculty guided initiative for enthusiasts in field of finance and economics The objective of the club is to help students appreciate the role of economics and finance by linking the learning in the classroom to real life business news and problems.
Financial Literacy Club
The Club of Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune is a student driven and faculty guided initiative for increasing the awareness in the field of Finance which involves various aspects related to Personal Finances. The objective of the club is to increase the Financial Literacy among the students and help them to achieve Financial Freedom so that they can meet their personal and financial Goals.
Team Apache
Team Apache is the Efficycle team of Vishwakarma Institute of Technology. They design and fabricate a hybrid, human powered, three wheeled, electric vehicle. They participate in Efficycle competition which is organised by the Northern India Section of Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE NIS). They are ranked among the top 10 Efficycle teams in the country. The club is active since 2014.
PIESA Club
PIESA is the Production and Industrial Engineering Students Association. It organises technical and soft skill events for students. It also actively organises Industrial visits and training sessions for Industrial Production Department.
Personality Development Club
Personality Development Club(PD Club) is a platform for expressing oneself with Competence, Culture and Character as it's basis. They conduct many principle centred seminars relevant to modern age. They also arrange technical workshops on C, JAVA, Catia, etc in college and in many IITs and NITs.
