Admission Criteria & Eligibility

  • Results of Standard XII submitted via one of the following:

    • CBSE - All India Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (AISSSCE); or

    • CISCE - Indian School Certificate (ISC); or

    • State BoardsIntermediate / Pre-University / Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary School Certificate

    Results must be issued by the appropriate examinations board and sent directly to Western.  Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head, counselor or the appropriate Examination Board. Notarized copies are not acceptable.

    Applicants may be considered for conditional admission on the basis of mid-year/mid-term results.  Mid-year results and an academic record to date must be submitted directly to Western from the institution(s) attended.

  • Results of Standard X must also be provided as an academic record.  Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head, counselor or the appropriate Examination Board. Notarized copies are not acceptable

    You are encouraged to write a test at the earliest possible date and at the latest before March 2018. Scores for any test written before January 1, 2016 may not be accepted.

    1.TOEFL Internet based (iBT), Paper-based (PBT) and the TWE

    The minimum score required on the TOEFL is 550 on the paperbased with a 5 on the TWE, and 83 on the internet-based tests with no score below 20. Western's Institution Code for TOEFL is 0984. Please leave the department code blank to ensure that it is received by the Undergraduate Admissions Office.

    2.  Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic)

    A minimum overall score of 58 is required with no score less than 56.

    3. MELAB

    A minimum overall score of 80 is required with no score less than 78.

    4. IELTS International

    IELTS Academic is required with a minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no part less than 6.0.

    6. CAEL

    A minimum overall score of 60 is required with no part less than 60.
