Admission Criteria & Eligibility

If English isn't your first language, you’ll need to provide proof of your English proficiency before you can enrol here.

You can do this by showing that you have completed certain secondary or tertiary qualifications, by taking an English language skills test, or by completing a relevant English language course at the University’s Centre for English Teaching (CET) – visit the CET website for more information, including how to package your degree with your language studies.

English language skills tests we accept include:

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) - Academic module
  • TOEFL PB (Test of English as a Foreign Language: paper based)
  • TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language: internet based)
  • Pearsons Test of English (PTE) - Academic
  • Cambridge English scale for Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)
CBSE: 
All India Senior School Certificate awarded by the Central Board of Secondary 
Education (CBSE). Total of the best four externally examined subjects (where A1=5, 
A2=4.5, B1=3.5, B2=3, C1=2, C2=1.5, D1=1, D2=0.5)
Indian School Certificate: 
Indian School Certificate awarded by the Council for Indian 
School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). The required score is the average of the best 
four externally examined subjects, including English. 
Indian HSSC: 
Average of the best 5 academic subjects in the Higher Secondary School 
Certificate (HSSC) in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, 
Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. The requirement is higher for other states
