University of Nevada - Reno

The University of Nevada, Reno was founded in 1874. It was first known as the State University of Nevada in Elko. It was moved to its current location of Reno in 1885. The university offers 77 UG level courses and houses around 16 departments. The College of Engineering is among the prized assets of the university. The Nevada Terawatt Facility, located on one of the branch campuses of the university, includes a terawatt-class high-intensity laser system – one of the most powerful such lasers on any college campus in USA.
