Symbiosis Law School, Pune

Symbiosis is a Greek term meaning 'Living together for the mutual benefit of each other.' Symbiosis is an educational and cultural center of international standards established in 1971, under the patronage of Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, President & Founder Director.It is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. Symbiosis Law School, Pune established in June 1977, was earlier affiliated to the University of Pune and later became a constituent of Symbiosis International University in 2002, with an enhanced degree of autonomy in teaching, learning and research.

Ranking Explanation
The college was ranked 7th among law colleges in India by the India Today magazine in the year 2017. It has moved 1 spot up from its previous year’s ranking of 5th. It was ranked 5th in 2016 by India Today.
Campus Infrastructure
SLC shares its campus with the College of Arts and Commerce. The library has a collection of over 38,000 volumes, consisting of text books, reference books, journals, etc., apart from current legal periodicals. The college also has two air-conditioned computer labs, an in-house auditorium, a conference room, and a food court. The computer lab is well equipped with around 30 computers with the latest configurations. Students are provided with printing and scanning facilities and have access to free internet facilities.
Placement
The college provides placement services to the students. The placement cell acts as a single point of contact between the organisations and the students. The cell not only looks into placement of the students, but also into their training and grooming for interviews.
Recruitment process
After years of rigorous training and internship exposure, it is important that skills and the knowledge of our students are put to fine use. The task of ensuring this endeavor is taken up by the Placement Cell. Placement Process in SLS, Pune therefore begins in Phases.
Training and Development Programmes
Increasingly, law firms and chambers recruit applicants who have a portfolio of specific skills to equip them to succeed in legal practice. When talking to the graduate recruitment managers of leading law firms about what they look for in desirable candidates, there are qualities that come up time and time again.
Placement cell also endeavours to provide such opportunities to all batches of students to develop skills important for legal professionals.
Resume writing workshop
A Resume Writing Workshop was organised by the Placement Cell on the 7th of August, the speaker of which was a representative of Talent Bridge Technologies Ltd. It was organised for the BBA LLB 5th year students. The workshop was very significant since it is only a few days left for the various companies to start recruiting. The workshop was a great learning experience for the students. All of them participated enthusiastically and managed to clear their doubts regarding Resume writing.
