Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research

The Institute of Medical Sciences & Research was started in the year 1997, with the first batch passing out in December, 2002. The Institute is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. The MBBS degree provided by the institute is duly recognized by the Medical Council of India, with sanction for an intake of 150 students annually. The institute provides other programmes including B.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), and M.Sc. Nursing. It also provides MD/MS in the following disciplines: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Community Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Radio-Diagnosis, Anaesthesiology, and Orthopaedics. The Institute is coming up fast at the Amritsar-Mehta Road with a sprawling new campus in about 33 acres of land.

  • The campus has a 400-seat capacity air conditioned conference hall with an audio system on each seat, a 1000-seat capacity multipurpose auditorium, and four lecture theatres of 150 seat capacity each
  • A Cancer Hospital named Sri Guru Ram Das Rotary Cancer Hospital has started functioning for Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy.
  • The Campus is guarded by a strong security team, consisting of ex-army personnel, under the administrative supervision of an officer of the rank of a Lt. Colonel (Retd). 
  • The Institute has its own fleet of buses and cabs for carrying students and the staff between the Institute and the city to and fro.
