Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College

The College has been established with a generous contribution made by Smt.Sundarbai Shankarlal Charitable Trust, T.Nagar, Chennai of the SHASUN Family and Group, which is one of the leading Indian manufacturers of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients strongly built on its R&D expertise with a global presence.The college was granted permission by the Govt. of Tamilnadu by its G.O. of16th September, 2004 and affiliation by the University of Madras on 18th May 2005.The College works to become a centre of excellence. In 2010-11 there were about 3000 students enrolled.

Campus Facilities
Lecture Rooms
Every lecture room is provided with a LCD projector and a system for teacher and students' presentations.All rooms are equipped with bulletin boards for wall magazines and displays.    

Computer Labs
Computer labs are fully equipped with systems and latest software. The campus has wireless networking to enable students to access internet. Labs have multimedia facility. The electronics lab has micro-processor and logic circuit kits for the students to practically understand the subjects. The college campus is fully Wi-Fi Connected.

Visual Communication
The department is fully equipped with state-of-the-art studio facilities consisting of shooting floor for television production, edit suite, audio recording and voice booth, photography studio with darkroom lab, drawing studio, graphic designing and multimedia lab. The college also installed a Community Radio in the campus.    

Library
The College Libraryis well-stocked, computerized & fully air- conditioned with 10,850 volumes of books, journals, newspapers, magazines, audio and video library along with reading facilities for the exclusive use of students and faculty. The library also has internet facility, available free of cost to the students.

Seminar hall
The campus has an air-conditioned seminar hall that can seat 150 people. It is used for guest lectures, seminars or intercollegiate competitions.    

Play Ground
The College provides ample opportunities to every student to play many games. The students can play cricket, football, volleyball, hockey, kho-kho, silambam, chess, caroms, table tennis; learn karate, taek-wendo, aerobics, and gymnastics.There is ample space and regular coaching to aspirants of the above games provided by the college.

Canteen
The campus has a well ventilated, large dinning hall with kitchen attached. There is also a Coffee Day kiosk in the campus. Students get food at subsidized rates from morning 8am to 6pm.    

Placement Cell
The Placement Cell provides training in relevant skills, arranges for Campus Placement, and many career opportunities by well known organizations. During 2009-10, 512 students got placements.Placement Training from MaFoi - Currently ongoing.
