Shri B M Kankanwadi Ayurved Mahavidyalaya

KLE’s Shri B M Kankanwadi Ayurved Mahavidyalaya was established by a great philanthropist with the noble object to preserve, propagate and develop the mother medical system of ayurved. It has been providing an education in ayurved since 1933. The college has well-established departments with high-end equipment and a learned faculty, and imparts ayurved education at the graduate, post-graduate and post doctoral levels. The teaching hospital with state-of-the-art facilities blends traditional knowledge with modern technology.

  • To cater to the research needs of scholars, the Central Research Laboratory, including the Animal House and the Medical Research Centre, offers all requisite types of research facilities.
  • There are boys’ and girls’ hostels with mess facilities, Omni buses for safe & timely transportation, in-house banking facilities, and even KLE Health Insurance for the welfare of students.
  • KLE takes pride in the establishment of innovative clinics like Samvardhana (rehabilitation centre for differently abled children), Srishti fertility centre, Garbhasamskara (ayurveda ante-natal care - trimester wise yoga, music therapy & mantra therapy), Hridya (ayur cardiac care), Utsaaha (life style modification & rejuvenation centre), Priyangu (skin & hair care clinic), and Nirvisha (poison & bite management centre).
  • Swarnabindu, a breakthrough milestone in ayurved, another initiation of KLE started in October 2007, is now being practiced across the country.
