Pillai College of Engineering, New Panvel

MES group after establishing its name in the field of education and experience of around 30 years, ventured into in field of engineering education with establishment of PIIT in the year 1999. PIIT is now one of the select few Institutes which is accreditated by National Board of Accreditation. The Institute offers both undergraduate (Bachelor of Engineering ) and postgraduate (Masters in Engineering) programs. PIIT has state-of-the-art facilities and distinguished faculty has been a nurturing ground for students of high academic capabilities. It is established on 16 acre of lush green campus with 2,30,000 sq. ft of built up area having spacious classrooms, well-equipped laboratories and workshops, new age computer facilities and a well-stocked library provide a stimulating educational environment within the College. The College has attracted qualified and experienced faculty members and has been constantly adding experienced faculty members to its already growing number of about 140 teaching staff.

PIIT offers comfortable hostel facilities at very nominal charges with hygienic vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine. The opportunity to study at Panvel gives the tranquility of village life without comprising on the attractions of the bustling city life.

We impart quality education by experienced and expert faculty and make sure student studying at PIIT pass out in flying colours irrespective of their initial academic performance. We believe in mentoring the students each faculty member is available for guidance for about 20 students on a personal basis.

We believe in encouraging the students by creating an atmosphere where learning is more fun than burden. Faculty members try to be the proverbial "Friend, philosopher and guide" for students.

library
Our Library is computerized and is having adequate collection of text books, reference books, journals, magazines and other learning resources. The open access system to over 15000 books, about 400 periodicals, magazines, journals, e-journals – Indian as well as International and interactive CDs. Institute also subscribes for Digital library like IEEE, ACM and ASME. Membership of Central library of IIT Bombay, British Council Library and Delnet Library. Installation of KOHA (latest version in 2012) is being done in all installations of MES at New Panvel campus. The advantage of KOHA is that it provides server with its necessary components in the Amazon cloud (the most recurred cloud service providers) with internet connectivity one can connect to host server just through a simple client machine and carry out the library activities.
Placements Comments
Training and Placement Cell is an integral part of this institute. The Management has provided complete infrastructure and human resources support for effective functioning of the cell. Training activities are organized throughout the year in an effort towards preparing the prospective students for the campus selection. Training and Placements of students is the primary function of the department. It also takes initiative for developing right attitudes, soft skills, motivating our students to have strong technical as well as analytical capabilities and exposing them to the requirements of corporate world and helping them in their professional careers.
