Admission Criteria & Eligibility

To gain admission into the esteemed Northwestern University undergraduate programme:
  • An international student should have a SAT score between 2030-2280and an ACT above 32
  • CBSE and ICSE students should have above 85% marks, IGCSE board students above AAAB and IB board students above 36 out of a total score of 45. The subject SAT scores depend on the field the student is applying  to.
  • The average scores for the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) are 90 and IELTS are 7.0
  • Early Decision candidates could apply by the beginning of November and willreceive notification by mid December. Regular Decision candidates apply by the beginning of  January to receive notification by Early April
  • Use Northwestern school code 1565 (SAT) or 1106 (ACT) to have your SAT Reasoning Test or ACT sent directly to us. Two SAT Subject Tests are recommended.
  • International applicants whose primary language is not English or whose secondary school curriculum has not been in English must submit exam results from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
    Use Northwestern school code 1565 to direct your TOEFL scores to us; if you are taking the IELTS, request that the scores be sent electronically to us. 
    Northwestern does not accept scores from other English proficiency exams, including the TOEFL Institutional Testing Program (ITP).
