Lala Lajpatrai College of Commerce and Economics

The Lala Lajpat Rai college of commerce and Economics is  the leading educational institutions in the metropolis. Ever since its inception in June 1972 the college has grown leaps and bounds through its various phases in different spheres of activities. It runs integrated degree courses of B.Com, B.M.S. B.SC.(I.T.), M.Com and BMM. The college also conducts Vocational courses.  The college has an  active Placement cell, UGC Network Resource Centre, Research and Development Unit, Career and Counselling Cell and  UGC XI Plan Schemes.

Placements Comments
The Placements season, both for final jobs, and Summer Internships is an integral part of any business schools annual calendar of activities. Lala College also has a well laid-out and systematic process / organized system of dovetailing our student’s career aspirations with corporate’s expectations. The Placement Cell at Lala College comprise of the Student Committee on Placements (SCoP) from the first and the second year of PG programme. The Placement Office headed by Dean-Career Management Center acts as central hub for all activities and is a repository of all information and resources. Many students got placed by companies on and off campus companies like TCS and Deutsche Bank selected 20 students each. Pay packages earned from 1.2 to 4 lacs per annum for final placement and 3000 – 10000 per month for internship.

Facilities
Auditorium
For Co-curricular activities, we have an air conditioned auditorium with a capacity of 650 where cultural programmes are held..The foyer of the auditorium is available throughout the year for practice for various programs. Music system is available for cultural programs of the students.
Canteen
There is canteen facility on the ground floor with seating capacity for about 100 students. Various eatables and beverages are served to the students and staff members in this canteen.
Computer Lab
There are two computer labs on 4th and 5th floors. Students for their practical and preparation of various subject projects use both computer labs. Faculty depending on their lecture schedule also uses these computers.
Health Center
Our college has a very active health center that caters to the needs of both our students and faculty members as well. Dr. Komal jatania (M.B.B.S, DCH) is the consulting physicians and visits our college every Thursday between 11 am - 1 pm.Apart from this the college conducts a number of other medical services to its students, staff and society at large through initiatives such as eye checkup drive, blood donation drive, Hepatitis checkup, Thalassemia detection test, Stem cell registration, etc. 
Library
The College Library is situated on the second floor with a spacious reading hall. Computers with internet facility are made available to the students and teachers. Library catalogue is made available to the students through intranet. Students are now given direct access to the bookshelves. Handicapped students are given special attention and assistance for selection of books and periodicals. Library service is automated.
