Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media

The Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media (IIJNM) is founded in 2001 by the BS & G Foundation, a non-profit trust dedicated to promoting democratic values and institutions in India. It is one of South Asia's leading post-graduate schools of Journalism and Media. It is located in Bangalore, in the heart of India's high-tech industry. The institution offers Journalism and New Media courses. Admission to the institution is based on marks scored in an online written test and personal interview.

IIJNM has been ranked as the 6th top college in India for Journalism and Media in 2012 by Outlook. The rankings for Journalism and New Media colleges were drawn up only in 2012.
Campus Infrastructure
IIJNM is situated on 5 acres of beautifully kept grounds surrounded by rolling hills. The 30,000-sq.-ft. facility features large classrooms, auditoriums, a sophisticated media lab, library, and conference rooms. The institution has a multi media centre which provides a laboratory setting and educational environment that encourages innovations that can be applied to news organisations. It has all the required hardware and current software tools for TV, radio, print and online/multimedia publishing. The institution also houses the Journalism Museum.
Placements
IIJNM maintains close contacts and professional relationships with a large number of news organisations, academic institutions and corporations. The placement cell is headed by a faculty member of the college. All activities pertaining to campus recruitment are managed by this cell. Companies are invited to the campus every year. The cell is also involved in training and counselling students. Personality development programmes are also conducted for the students. The cell facilitates industry institute interaction on particular occasions.
Facilities
The institution offers the convenience of living within the campus. This in turn gives students constant access to the services offered by the institution. Healthy climate and adequate clean water availability make the area very attractive for living comfortably. Medical care is available at hospitals within a 20-30 minute driving distance from IIJNM campus.
