Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Allahabad)

Indian Institute of Information Technology or IIITA (also known as ‘triple I’ T-A) is a public owned Indian Institute of Technology funded by the Government. It was established as a centre of excellence for Information Technology by the Government in 1999.  The institute offers around two undergraduate courses and around 49 trust based and non-college scholarships.  The institute was conferred with deemed university status in 2000.  Entrance to the institute is subject to the rank achieved in the JEE mains.The college is known for excellence in Engineering and Technology and is certainly not easy to get into.

IIIT Allahabad Ranked As 90th Position in The Category of Engineering and technologyFor The Year 2018 By NIRF. IIIT Allahabad is one of the top ranked Engineering and Technology institutes, and ranks in at 11th best, according to India Today’s ranking on best engineering colleges in India 2017.  The college has featured in the rankings since 2007.  It moved up from 19th in 2011 to 18th in 2012.  However, the best rank achieved yet was in 2007 when it was ranked 8th best engineering college in India.  The college is known for excellence in Engineering and Technology and is certainly not easy to get into.
Campus facilities
The campus has been made on 100 acre land at Deoghat, which is in Jhalwa, on the outskirts of Allahabad.  There are two computer centres with six labs each, 16 lecture halls, electronics library, and residential facilities for students and faculty located on campus. An open air theatre, stadium and recreational facilities are under development.

Hostels
The institute provides hostel facilities to both boys and girls.  The senior most batches usually have single rooms, while the seniors are allotted twin sharing rooms. Out of the six hostels on campus, four are for boys and two for girls. The accommodations are provided with computers. The hostel mess provide meals to students.

Placement
Welcome to the Placement Website For IIITA, India's first premier institute of excellence in IT and allied sciences established by MHRD, Government of India. Our Students have been selected on an All India basis and are the top 0.5% of the nations talent pool. The students are a mosaic of innovation, brilliance and sincerity with a zeal for making their mark in the world.  IIIT-Allahabad has a flexible and mutually beneficial Recruitment and Internship program. Students who have been selected as recruits can also be hired as interns and if not be, more interns can be hired apart from recruits. Students can opt for internships of approximately 18 weeks in either a company or university ashering to the following guidelines:
(i) The internship is viewed as a major project in the last semester of B.Tech by the institute and thus the internship project (or industrial project) must be research based or development oriented.
(ii) The company must give a Problem/Project definition on which the selected students will work, which must be approved by the Institute as being suitable.
(iii) Midsemester project evaluation is necessary for all those who are pursuing it in India while it is optional for those pursuing the project outside the country.
(iv) The End semester evaluation is compulsory for all and will require the student to give a demo of the actual project (institute shall not possess the work).
