The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition (Mumbai) is a leading institute in South East Asia and was established in 1954. The college offers a full-time undergraduate course in hospitality and hotel administration. There are approximately 387 seats in the course.
Candidates interested in studying in this college must appear for the NCHMCT JEE entrance test. The exam is conducted in April. The results are declared in the month of May. Counselling for the seats happens in the month of June and the academic session commences from August onwards.

Campus Infrastructure and Facilities
Each year of the hotel management course as well as the food production craft courses in the institute have their separate kitchen as well as bakery facilities. It has a well equipped housekeeping lab with laundry equipments. It has a fully functional new computer laboratory with 50 computers which has internet and intranet facilities. Students can also access the internet round the clock in the lobby area.
It also has a well-equipped library with the widest collection of books pertaining to hotel management. The newly setup auditorium with state of the art audio visual facilities has a seating capacity of 200 people at a time.
All students of the college are required to have a minimum of 70% attendance in each subject and an overall 75% attendance during the academic sessions. Students failing to secure overall 75% attendance are detained from appearing for the annual examinations to be conducted by the National Council.
The principal of the institute has the authority to condone up to 10% of absence on medical grounds or for any other valid reasons. Such requests must be in writing and should be accompanied by leave letter/medical certificate issued by any registered medical practitioner immediately after the sickness/valid reasons for absence.
The institute prepares the students for various positions such as supervisors, junior managers and skilled craftsmen in hotels, restaurants, airline/mobile catering units, industrial canteens, schools, hospitals and also teaching positions in training institutions. Around 95% of the students get placed in different companies every year. The highest salary for a year has been Rs. 25000 p.m. + perks. The average salary is Rs. 12000 p.m. + perks. More than 30 organisations have attended the campus for recruitment which includes hotels, restaurants, BPOs, airlines and multiplexes.
