Griffith University

Nathan is our foundation campus, which officially opened in 1975 with 451 students and four study areas.Today, the campus hosts more than 13,000 students and offers degrees in business and government, engineering and information technology, environment, humanities and languages, law, and science and aviation. The campus, situated in tranquil bushland on the edge of Toohey Forest, is a short walk or bus ride from our Mt Gravatt campus or a 20-minute drive from the Brisbane CBD. Nathan is home to world-class expertise in the environment, corporate sustainability, Asian studies and the emerging biosciences. Our six-star, green-rated Sir Samuel Griffith Centre, which opened in 2013, was Australia’s first teaching and research building driven by solar power and hydrogen energy. The Centre also hosts the Red Zone, where students and visitors can relax and play with interactive technology. The campus also has fully catered and self-catered accommodation options, plus a range of sporting facilities.

Admission Criteria & Eligibility

We accept the following English tests for standard entry into undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs.

  • IELTS: minimum score of 6.5, with no subscore less than 6.0 or
  • TOEFL: a minimum score of 575 or
  • Internet-based (IBT) TOEFL: a score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19) or
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic): an overall score of 58 with no score less than 50 or
  • ISLPR: no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR
  • All India Senior School Certificate or Comparable Qualification (awarded by CBSE or CISCE)
    An overall grade average of 65% in the best 4 subjects.
