Fashion Institute of Technology

The Fashion Institute of Technology, generally known as FIT, is a State University of New York (SUNY) college of art, business, design, and technology connected to the fashion industry, with an urban campus located on West 27th Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan , New York City. It was founded in 1944, accredited in 1957, and is ranked among the top five fashion schools in the world. Seventeen majors are offered through the School of Art and Design and ten through the Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology leading to the A.A.S., B.F.A., or B.S. degrees. Admission Criteria & Eligibility

To gain admission into the esteemed Fashion Institute of Technology  undergraduate programme:
  • An international student should haveCBSE and ICSE students should have above 70% marks, IGCSE board students above CCC and IB board students above 24 out of a total score of 45
  • SAT and ACT test scores are not required for admissions purposes,They are, however, required for the Presidential Scholars Program. They are also required for placement into your English and Math classes at FIT. International students who have not taken the SAT or ACT exam, will need to take the FIT English and Math Placement Exams before registering for any English, Math and Science courses, However, average  SAT Score accepted by the University is 1000-1400 and ACT above 20
  • TOEFL: The minimum TOEFL score requirement depends on which test format you are using: Internet-based (ibt) test: minimum score must be 80 and with IELTS Score minimum band score of 6.5 in the academic module.
  • PTE: A minimum score of 53 must be met.
  • When applying to Fashion Institute of Technology, it's important to note the application deadline is January 1. The application fee at Fashion Institute of Technology is $50. It has an an acceptance rate of 44.8 percent
