The college has been ranked at 41th position in the engineering By NIRF For The Year 2018. The college has been ranked at 14th position in the engineering and technology department at an all India level By Outlook For The Year 2017.
It is not easy to get into DCE. In the entrance exam, 85% of the seats are reserved for Delhi based candidates. The remaining 15% seats are for the rest of India. It has been noticed that in the last few years, students have been flocking to schools of Delhi NCT for their 10+2 to compete for the 85% reserved seats. No entrance examination of India has such a peculiarity.
Delhi Technological University (DTU) is located at Rohini in the far Northwest region of Delhi. It is at a distance of 35 km (approx.) from the international airport of New Delhi. Reaching the university from places outside Delhi is easy, as it is in close proximity to the Delhi Metro Rail service and the interstate bus terminus located on the inner ring road. Delhi residents can reach the university by bus and metro.
The university campus is lush green and well-maintained. The classrooms are air-conditioned with comfortable benches and projectors. The library is three-storeyed and air-conditioned, and is open at odd hours as well. It has a collection of more than 65,000 unique titles. The university has a campus-wide wireless network, an online library system, hostels, gymnasium, health center, and a computer center. It also has its own shopping plaza and an SBI Bank branch on campus. The university also has a book bank that is intended to assist students from the economically weaker sections of society by providing text books on loan.
Faculty and Attendance
The faculty is highly experienced and knowledgeable. The core branches like electrical, mechanical and civil have a great set of professors who are masters in their field.
With respect to attendance, the university is strict during the first two years of engineering. Students have to maintain 75% attendance compulsorily, failing which strict action is taken against them. In extreme cases, students stand a chance of losing a semester.

DTU has a well-equipped centralized computer centre to cater to the needs of students and faculty in the university. It is housed, in a magnificent state-of-the-art building having specialized laboratories to provide variety of platforms and computing environment for UG , PG and research students.
The centre possesses a number of servers and over 200 Dell intel core i5 computer systems. In addition the centre has more than 15 servers hosting different applications such as websites & portals , SPSS, Mathematica , MatLab , DNS , LDAP, proxy, Email services , Network Monitoring System (NMS) etc. and 4 SUN CAD workstations meant for use by UG/PG/PhD students for their projects and research work. The centre is fully networked through high-end intelligent Avaya & CISCO switches , and possesses round the clock 1 Gbps NKN leased line , ISDN and a 50 Mbps leased line in a different pipe for the LAN wired & Wi-Fi connectivity for the academic, administrative and hostel blocks of the campus, with internet facilities on all the nodes. It also has the latest versions of compilers, scientific, technical and engineering software, training kits etc. for the students of different branches of engineering.
Banking and Mail:
The State Bank of India (SBI) has a branch within the college campus to cater to banking requirement of the students. All the banking transactions are carried out within the branch itself.The bank has also provided Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) service within the campus for the benefit of the DTU community.The Indian Post has its office within the campus to cater to the mail related needs of the DTU community.
Delhi has all the opportunities to be developed as major knowledge hub in the country with its deep rooted tradition of quality education and research in science and technology. The present Concept Paper provides the broad framework for development of Delhi as a major knowledge hub in India. DTU has an ultra-modern gymnasium with high-tech equipment. The gymnasium has been refurbished recently and new equippment like digital electronic treadmills have been added to the impressive setup.
