Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University

Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University is one of the largest universities in India. It was founded by Patangrao Kadam in 1964 in the Indian city of Pune. A total of 38 courses are offered out of which 29 courses are in the undergraduate level. There are more than 70,000 students studying under the university’s banner. This includes students who are pursuing their studies through the distance education mode as well. Selection of the students is on the basis of entrance tests. Tests are different for different courses. The application closes in the beginning of April and the entrance exam is conducted between April and June. Classes commence from the mid of July.

Campus

Campuses
The university has campuses in Pune, New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Solapur, Kolhapur, Karad and Sangli. It also has a campus in the United Arab Emirates in the city of Dubai. But the main campus of the university is in Pune in Katraj and Enradwane. The Katraj campus also known as the Dhankawadi campus is spread across 85 acres of land which is very conveniently located. It has a fully developed football and sports ground of 5 acres. It also houses the Bharati Hospital, as well as an Ayurved and Homeopathic Hospital.
Facilities
There are many facilities in both the Pune campuses. The college has a host of canteens which supply students with ample variety of snacks and short eats. An ATM centre ensures that students can take out money at any time of the day or night. There is also a 24-hour medical store for students. Overall, the campus is very well maintained.
Hostel
There are on campus hostel facility for both boys and girls in the college. 24 hours security is provided for the campus hostels to ensure safety for all students. Students also have access to the sports equipments and facilities available at the college premises. There is a visitor’s room and a common recreational room for entertaining visitors and for hanging out. There are 4 AC rooms in the hostel.
