Admission Criteria & Eligibility

Academic requirement

  1. Freshmen must have a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) (a "B" or better where "A"=4.00) from a secondary school.
  2. Some ASU  programs may have higher admission requirements and may require a minimum ACT or SAT score.

English language proficiency requirement

  1. Success at Arizona State University begins with a strong comprehension of the English language. Because our rigorous courses are taught in English and move at a fast pace, fluency in the language is necessary for understanding concepts and expressing yourself effectively.Applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of English language proficiency by submitting test scores from one of the following:
  2. ASU requires a score of at least 61 TOEFL iBT, 6.0 IELTS, or 53 PTE. You are welcome to take the TOEFL, IELTS or PTE multiple times in order to receive a passing score.A passing score will provide you full admission to ASU.
