   The Amity University Act, 2014 (West Bengal Act, XXIV of 2014) has been passed by the Legislative Assembly of West Bengal in 2014. The Amity University Act, 2014 has been published in the Kolkata Gazette on 21.1.2015 vide the Law Department Notification No. 83L dated 21.1.2015.

Amity University Kolkata is a part of 20-year old, leading education group of India, set up with a vision to contribute to nation-building through education, where currently 100,000+ students are pursuing 250 programmes across campuses in India and abroad.

Amity University Kolkata is yet another landmark project by Amity to revolutionize the Indian higher education Sector by providing globally benchmarked, research and employment oriented education.

Central Library
The libraries at Amity are more like Integrated Knowledge Resource Centres that are stocked with over 2 lac books in total; periodicals, references, national and international journals, covering all aspects of academic studies and research materials.Amity Library has over 17,000 online journals. Some of the online resources Amity students have access to are Ebsco Host, UGC-Infonet, INDEST-AICTE, IS1 and Delnet. All Amity students are members of Amizone-Amity Intranet Zone which allows them easy access to these journals & papers.

Hostel Facilities
Amity offers comprehensive hostel facilities for boys and girls separately within the University Campus.Caring wardens and a vigilant security ensures a pleasant stay allowing students to focus on academics. The air-conditioned residential apartment suites consist of 4 single rooms with an attached bathroom and sitting lounge equipped with sofa, cable TV and refrigerator. Normal Non-A/C hostel rooms are also available.

Cafeteria
Healthy nutrition is needed for allround performance. Hence, all cafeterias and hostel mess have menus that are designed by a team of professional dieticians, offering nutritious and wholesome food to ensure a well balanced diet.Amity also has a multi-mix of Food Courts with outlets like Café Coffee Day, Dosa Plaza, Subway, Domino's, Bikano, Mamma Mia and Mrs. Kaur Cookies within the Campus.

IT Campus
All Amity locations are connected to Amity University Campus, Noida over MPLS VPN Network, enabling us to transmit Live Class Rooms to all locations through eLearning Solution and IP Cameras. High throughput Wi-Fi Access Points with Omni and Sectoral Antenna helps students to browse Internet for education from any part of the Campus. 1 Gbps internet bandwidth from multiple ISP’s give high speed bandwidth to students.

On campus hostel accomodation available with full security at an annual fee of Rs. 90,000 along with Rs. 10000 (security amount refundable)
