Aligarh Muslim University

Aligarh Muslim University or AMU is among the oldest and most renowned universities in India. It is located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. It was established in 1875 as Muslim Anglo Oriental College (MAO College).  AMU is a public university and it was originally affiliated to University of Calcutta, and later transferred to Allahabad University.  AMU was bestowed the status of university in 1920. It offers close to 50 undergraduate courses and has around 30,000 students.  The university has been recognised for excellence in imparting Law studies.

Ranking
The University Ranked As 49th,35th and 9th Positions in the Categories of Business Management,Engineering and Medicine For The Year 2018 By NIRF. The university has been ranked as 2nd by India Today, in the top 50 universities in India poll of 2017.  The law department has been ranked as 2nd in the country in 2017, according to India Today.  Admission to AMU is through an admission test conducted by the university itself.  The university is tough to get into as it is one of the top universities in India.
Library
The Maulana Azad Library is the central library of the university.  It has the unique distinction of being the second largest University Library in not just the country, but the entire continent of Asia.  The current seven storied building was inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru, erstwhile Prime Minister of India in 1960.  The library contains close to 2, 50,000 books and around 16,000 rare manuscripts.  The library contains many historical items like the painting of Tulip Flowers, considered the defining work of erstwhile artist Mansoor Naqaash, who was a courtier of Emperor Jahangir’s court.

Placement
Organized Job awareness related workshops in both Govt and Pvt Sector for the students of different  courses.
2. Provided placement training to the job seekers, in association with Godrej, like Mock Group Discussions, Interviews, and CV writing sessions, followed by Placements.
3. Ran a Career Forum (a student- TPO initiative) where the students were provided career Counseling, Job training & exposure to the guest lectures.
4. Invited speakers from the corporate world (Wipro, Genpact, ICICI Bank, NIIT, etc) for the Guidance & Motivation of the students.
5. Organized Technical Training Workshops to the student of Computer Science & Engineering on the topics like Android application, Java, etc, in association with Ducat and Cat -7.
6. Organized a Career Fair for the students in association with The Chopras, New Delhi.
7. In order to inculcate the Entrepreneurship skills amongst the students, organized Workshop for the students of technical and non technical courses on the theme ?How to be an Entrepreneur? in association with the District Industrial Centre and NSIC, Aligarh.
8. Organized various creativity oriented student activities under the aegis of XFI Solution?s Australia and Google student club, AMU.
9. Organized lectures on soft skills for the students of different courses.1
10. Invited to interact with Mr. Rajeev Kumar ? global head ? campus hiring ? Wipro Technologies, for the students of the University.
11. Organized Campus Placements for the first time in Women?s college of the reputed companies like Wipro, Vodafone, Aon Hewitt, where more than 40 girls got the Job offers.
12. Organized Campus placements of the students.
