2. Delhi Technological University

Established in 1941, this is an autonomous university affiliated to the University of Delhi. Admission to this college is through the Combined Entrance Exam also known as CEE. 85% of the seats are reserved for students whose state of domicile is Delhi.

3. National Institutes of Technology (NITs)

The NITs are regional engineering colleges that are administered by the state government of the respective states. There will be one in each state in India. Among the NITs, the best ones are NIT Surat, NIT Tiruchirappalli, NIT Warangal, NIT Karnataka, NIT Durgapur, and NIT Kurukshetra. Admission to the NITs depends on the rank secured in the JEE Main All India Engineering Entrance exam.

ISM is a public institute located in Dhanbad and is a deemed university. Admission into the college is via JEE, a common entrance test conducted at an all India level. The college is among the few institutions that offer Mineral and Mining Engineering.

5. Anna University

Located in Chennai, Anna University is the single affiliating university for all Engineering and Technology colleges in Tamil Nadu. Admission into the university is based on rules and regulations of Tamil Nadu Engineering Applications.

6. Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology (NSIT)

Located in Dwaraka, Delhi, NSIT is a public autonomous institute. Admission to NSIT is tough and it is determined through rank scored in the all-India level JEE- Main.

7. Indian Institute of Information Technology – Allahabad (IITA)

IITA is a publicly owned Indian Institute of Technology funded by the Government. It was established in the year 1999. To gain admission into this institute, students should take JEE (Main) and must separately apply for IIIT counselling. Admissions are on the basis of the scores in JEE (Main).

8. Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI)

Established in 1920, HBTI is located in Kanpur and started off as a research institute. Selection of the undergraduate courses is through the U.P. State Engineering Entrance Examination (UPSEE).

9. Jadavpur University (JU)

Located in Kolkata, JU was established in 1861 and the technical institution was set up in 1906. Selection is based on merit as per result in the university entrance test. The university offers around 12 undergraduate courses in Engineering.

10. College of Engineering-Pune

College of Engineering, also known as COEP, was established in the year 1854 in Pune, Maharashtra. It is among the top 10 engineering colleges in India and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. Admission to the courses is based on the scores of the MHT-CET entrance exam, which is conducted in the month of May.

11. Birla Institute of Technology (BITS)

A deemed university since 1964, BITS Pilani is among the top 5 engineering colleges in India. Students interested in studying at this college must appear for the BITSAT entrance test. The Institute has another campus in Ranchi.

12. International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)

The International Institute of Information Technology (also known as IIIT Hyderabad or IIIT-H), located in Hyderabad, is an autonomous university founded in 1998. Admission into IIIT-H is on the basis of ranks obtained in JEE.

13. PSG College of Technology

Located in Coimbatore, PSG College of Technology is affiliated to Anna University. Selection is done through single window counselling by Anna University, Chennai, as per ranking based on the total marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

14. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT)

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) or VIT University is located in Vellore city in Tamil Nadu. Admission into the B.Tech programs is on the basis of VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) conducted all over India.

15. RV College of Engineering (RVCE)

Located in Bangalore, RVCE is affiliated to Visvesveraya Technological University.  Admission to the institute is through the K-CET or COMEDK-UGT.

Located in Delhi, MAIT is a technical institute affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Admission to MAIT is based on marks scored in CET conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

18. Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology  (DA-IICT)

DA-IICT is a private technological university located in Gandhinagar. The college was founded in 2001 by the late Sri Dhirubhai Ambani. Students must first appear for the JEE-Main followed by the DA-IICT entrance examinations to secure admission to the institute.

19. Bangalore Institute of Technology

Located in Bangalore, BIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. The institute was established in 1979. Admission to the institute is based on marks scored in KEA-CET/COMEDK/JEE Main/MAT.
