The Wee Kim Wee Legacy Fund Undergraduate Scholarship was established from the donations received from the Wee Kim Wee Legacy Fund. Scholarship Details

This scholarship covers the fee up to the normal programme duration on the condition that the scholar maintains a record of good academic performance and conduct satisfactory to the University. The scholars availing the scholarship will receive the following:
  • Subsidised tuition fees (after tuition grant) are fully covered
  • Living allowance of S$6,000 per academic year is given
No bond is attached to the Wee Kim Wee Legacy Fund Undergraduate Scholarship apart from the three-year bond applicable to all Singapore permanent residents and international students under the MOE Tuition Grant Scheme. The scholarship is offered to citizens of Singapore for studies at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.


Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship is open to Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents. Successful awardees should study Bachelor of Communication Studies on a full-time basis. Other requirements for the scholarship are listed below:
  • The student should possess outstanding Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' level results, Local Polytechnic Diploma, NUS High School Diploma or IB Diploma
  • Excellent co-curricular activities records
  • Strong leadership qualities and potential.


Application Process

The students have to apply within the same application period as that of the undergraduate admissions at the university. Scholarships are awarded based on competition amongst shortlisted candidates. Applicants are required to submit their application for admission before submitting their application for scholarship.

The scholarship application form can be found at the link 'Application for Scholarship' at the end of the online application for admission. Students are required to login with the application number assigned to them. Applicants are required to submit a recent passport-size photo (digital image) online after completing the application form. They are also required to submit a referee’s appraisal online. The appraisal is to be completed by the applicant’s school teacher, who must not be his/her family or relative. After the scholarship application has been submitted, applicants will be provided with a URL to be forwarded to their school teacher. The school teacher is to submit the online appraisal to the university within 7 days of the scholarship application.

If a student has reserved an undergraduate degree programme in NTU, he/she can login at (https://wis.ntu.edu.sg/pls/webexe/SCHLR_appl.login) to access the scholarship application form. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified for an interview.

Additional Information

The scholar receiving the scholarship may not, without the approval of the university, hold concurrently any other scholarships, bursaries or university loans. He/she is required to maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0 out of 5.0. Academic performance will be reviewed every semester. The scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of the university, the scholar’s progress or behaviour is deemed unsatisfactory. If the scholar decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, the university reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.
