The scholarship does not specify the amount it will grant to students. The award covers all tuition and compulsory fees, maintenance allowance, book allowance as well as return air tickets. It also includes one-time clothing, settling-in and computer allowances. This scholarship is applicable to undergraduate students interested in Architecture, Law, Medicine, Science, Humanities, Health care, Education and Teaching, Journalism, Media, PR and Events, Computer Science and Information Technology, and Business Management. It is applicable to students from Singapore.
GCE ‘A’ Level, International Baccalaureate, Polytechnic Diploma or equivalent;
Done consistently well in school and have strong language skills;
An impressive co-curricular activities record;
Strong leadership qualities;
A strong interest in a writing career; and
Not currently in receipt of any other scholarship.
Applications are open from November till 15 Feb for Undergraduate Scholarship and 15 April for Mid-Term Scholarship.
Courses of Study
You can pursue a Bachelor’s degree in all fields of study except in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, architecture and law.
Terms and Conditions
The minimum period to serve with us upon graduation is six years for overseas scholarships and four years for local ones.
Shortlisted candidates will have to go through a writing exercise and attend an interview if they clear the exercise. Successful candidates will be given an opportunity to get a first-hand experience of what it is like to be a journalist, where their performance will be assessed. Candidates who have cleared the final round of the selection interview will be offered the scholarship.
