The SNCF Co-operative Scholarship is a merit based scholarship provided by Singapore National Co-operative Federation. The number of scholarships offered varies each year. These scholarships are offered for courses at the undergraduate level. Students who are going to purse full time first-degree in Business Administration, Accountancy, Computing, Mass Communications or Arts (Specialising In Economics or Statistics) courses at National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU) universities are considered.

Scholarship Details

The scholarship covers full tuition fees and a maintenance allowance of S$3,500 per academic year. In addition, the recipient is entitled to a hostel accommodation allowance up to S$3,500 per academic year and a maximum computer grant of S$3,000.


Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student:
  • Should be Singapore citizens or permanent residents
  • Should have GCE’A’ Level or equivalent students with outstanding academic results
  • Should have good co-curricular activities record
  • Should have good leadership qualities and potential
  • Should have an interest in the co-operative’s movement work.

Assessment Criteria
Applicants must first seek admission to the institutions on their own and preferably be accepted for admission before being considered for the Scholarship.
Eligible applicants will be assessed based on the following criteria (not in order of importance):
  • Applicant’s academic records
  • Applicant’s participation in Co-Curricular Activities (CCA)
  • Applicant’s leadership qualities and potential with interest in co-operative work
  • Other factors being equal, the financial background of the applicant
  • Upon graduation, scholars are required to serve a period of up to 4 years within the co-operative sector.
