Scholarship Details

The scholarship does not specify the amount that it will grant to students. Students can enjoy the benefits of the scholarship for one academic year. They may receive either a full or partial scholarship for the academic year. These full tuition scholarships cover tuition for the academic year as posted by the financial aid office at the college or university of the student. It is applicable to undergraduate students interested in Engineering and Technology, Science, Computer Science and Information Technology. This scholarship is applicable to all international students.

Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, the:
  • Student must be enrolled full time in a Bachelor’s degree programme at a four year college or university in the United States, Canada, or Mexico at the time he/she submits the application
  • Students need to continuously ensure satisfactory progress towards an undergraduate degree. The degree must be in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline like Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics. Furthermore, the student must demonstrate an interest in Computer Science. As the scholarship is merit based, the student must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 4.0, or a 4.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 5.0.

Application Process

Students have to apply online from the scholarship web page and take a copy of the confirmation page after application. Microsoft selects final candidates based on the following criteria:

  • Displayed interest in the software industry
  • Commitment to leadership
  • Financial need.
Student must include the following six items in their application:
  • Resume
  • Academic transcript
  • Application details
  • Answers to essay questions
  • A letter of referral
  • A confirmation page from online application to the Microsoft Internship Program.
