Scholarship Details

The scholarship does not specify the amount that it will grant to students. It is applicable to overseas undergraduate students interested in Humanities. An honourarium of $420 per week is payable to students for the entire duration of the scholarship. This is subject to the condition that the holders are not in receipt of a regular, full-time income. Accommodation is also provided for free. A return fare between a scholarship holder's home and Canberra is also provided. The Memorial will fund travel only within Australia, and will provide supporting documentation for any required visa applications. But, the Memorial will not act as an agent for the visa application.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is determined by certain factors:
  • Only history students in the third or fourth year of an undergraduate course, or who are undertaking early-stage postgraduate studies, can apply for the scholarship
  • Overseas students must be undertaking a level of study equivalent to that outlined above. They should be able to fund their own travel to and from a major point of entry to Australia (an international airport), and make their own arrangements for the necessary Australian visa
  • Overseas students will be considered based on their merits, but no more than one overseas scholar will be appointed each year.
