Career Session : Choices of Streams and Careers

Students generally are in a dilemma concerning the co-relations between subjects and careers. Many students believe that what they’re studying doesn’t necessarily have something to do with the career that they have picked. We want to help students realize that this is in fact, not the case. The session would be for about an hour and conducted for students of class 9 & 10. During this session, students would understand what streams they can consider selecting after they complete their class 10. This session would also give them an insight into the kind of subject combination required and the careers that they can consider pursuing with the chosen subjects in class 11 & 12. The presentation will cover streams in sciences, commerce and Humanities. In addition, it also guides students on the different tools that they can use to assess their aptitude and interests and based on that can take a well-informed decision about future career prospects.

Upcoming Careers and Its Scope

The career is an individual's metaphorical "journey" through learning, work and other aspects of life. There are a number of ways to define career and the term is used in a variety of ways. A wide range of variations (especially in the range of potential professions) and more widespread education had allowed it to become possible to plan (or design) a career. Univariety Facilitator had given a detailed presentation around different streams of upcoming careers and its scope. Giving the students of grade 11 and 12 the insight about it and how they can pursue it further.

Next, she discussed how Univariety as a platform can be of assistance to the students, be it in the form of a reliable research tool, or a place to seek guidance from the counselors who are available for their assistance, or the university connect that the student might need to gain a deeper understanding of how to choose the right college for the students. She also discussed some of the upcoming careers and choosing a different path rather than choosing a profession that is selected by the masses. The session was interactive as the students shared their inputs and understanding of their idea of going about the journey of career discovery in the right way. They wanted to know more about the system and wanted to start exploring it as soon as their accounts were made.
