About SRM University Joint Engineering Entrance Exam

SRMJEEE stands for the Sri Ramaswamy Memorial Joint University Engineering Entrance Exam. It is an objective type exam which is conducted by SRM University in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu for taking admission into B.Tech course, B. Arch, B Des.The entrance examination is mandatory for admission into technical and designing programmes at both the undergraduate as well as at postgraduate level. The SRMJEEE is conducted in two modes: Online and Offline.
 SRMJEEE Question Paper Pattern for B Tech :

  • Part 1: Physics 35 questions with a total weightage of 105 marks.
  • Part 2: Chemistry 35 questions with a total weightage of 105 marks.
  • Part 3: Mathematics 35 questions with a total weightage of 105 marks (or) Biology 35 questions with a total weightage of 105 marks.

Three marks for every right answer in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. Negative mark of 1 for every wrong answer in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and 0.7 for for every wrong answer in Physics, Chemistry & Biology. Total weightage is 315 marks.
B.Arch. has two tests: Test I- Aesthetic Sensitivity (50 marks) with the duration of 30 minutes and Test-II Drawing (100 marks) with two hours duration.

Resident Indian or Non-Resident Indian (NRI), holder of PIO or OCI card issued by Government of India are eligible to apply for SRMJEEE (UG).

Note: NRIs, holders of PIO or OCI card issued by Government of India who has not taken the SRMJEEE (UG) must apply under International student category only.

(b) Qualifying Examination:

 All B.Tech programmes : 

Minimum 50% aggregate in PCM

(i) Passed in Higher secondary examination (10+2 pattern ) or appearing in Higher Secondary examination in the current academic year with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects in regular stream from any state board within India, CBSE, ISCE, Matriculation, or NIOS

(ii) GCE A-level or International Baccalaureate(IB) diploma or IB certificate with Physics,  Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects (equivalent to Advanced Placement level in each subject) in any International schools within India

Eligibility for B.Des. Program (Duration  : 4 Years)

 A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent in academic stream having a minimum total aggregate of 55%.

Eligibility for B.Arch. Program (Duration: 5 Years)

Candidate must have a pass in 10+2 with 50% aggregate and also 50% marks in each subject Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

A pass in National Aptitude test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture.  IITJEE Mains - Paper II is also considered based on the passing criteria.

Course/Campus preference selected at the time of application is only for statistical purposes, the actual course preference can be selected at the time of counseling based on SRMJEEE - All India Rank and availability of seats.

Preparation Tips

The syllabus covers the entire topic from class eleven and twelve. Students needed to study the recommended test of the above subject for attempting the exam. Candidates can prepare for the exam by self-study or joining a coaching center. One has to study very carefully all the papers and have to do a number of revision in each subjects. Each and every subject must be given equal priority. Each chapter should be known to the candidate in details so that not a single important point is left out. Applicant must remember that SRMJEEE have cut off marks in each subject as such the candidates must give equal importance to every subject.
