About Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations Common Entrance Test

A Common Entrance Test is conducted by the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BPEE) in the State of Jammu & Kashmir by an Act of the State Legislative. Under the Act, the Board is entrusted with the task of conducting entrance examinations and recommending selection of  candidates  for  admission  to  various  professional  courses  in  the  State  of  Jammu  and Kashmir.These Programmes, interalia, include B.E./B.Tech. (Engineering)Courses.
The broad distribution of questions in different subjects shall be:-

Eligibility

Candidates applying for Common Entrance Test must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:
  • Must be permanent residents of J&K State as defined in Section 6 of the Constitution of the J&K.
  • Passed higher secondary Part II or an equivalent examination from a recognized statutory Board or University.
  • Must have passed Hr.   Sec.   Part-II   (12th/10+2) or an   equivalent   examination from  a recognised statutory Board/University
  • Must be at least 17 years old on 31st December of the relevant year 
  • have passed  10+2  or  equivalent  examination  with at  least  50%  marks for  Open Merit Category candidates,  including  the  Children  of  Defence  Personnel,  Children  of  Para-Military   Forces,   Children   of   State   Police   Personnel   and   candidates   possessing outstanding proficiency in Sports and 40% marks for the reserved category candidates belonging    to    SC/ST    and    other Socially    and    Educationally Backward    Classes(RBA/ALC/OSC
  • Have passed 10+2 examination with English , Physics , Chemistry and Math as their elective subjects in case of admission to Bachelor of Engineering Courses.
  • the  candidates  appearing/appeared  in  10+2  (12th Class)  annual  examination can also apply  to  appear  in CET,  provided  such  candidates  have  qualified  the examination at the time of declaration of the result/at the date of counselling as may be  notified  by  the  Board.  Their  CET  result  shall remain  withheld  unless  they  produce the necessary certificate of qualifying the 10+2 (12th Class) examination
  • The  candidates  applying  under  TFW  category  are  open  merit  candidates.  They  must fulfil eligibility conditions meant for open merit candidates.
  • Note:  There is no upper age bar for appearing in the Entrance Test for admission to EngineeringCourses, both    in Government and   Private Colleges.

Application Process

  1. A candidate can fill only one application form.Multiple applications from the same candidate will lead to rejection of candidature.
  2. Keep scanned copy of photographs , signatures and other relevant documents handy before you fill online application form.
  3. On successfull submission of form an application number will be generated.Note that number for future references.
  4. Submit fees online.
  5. Upload all relevant documents.
  6. Application will be considered complete only when application form is filled ,payment is done and relevant documents are uploaded .Incomplete applications will be rejected
  7. Print application form.Keep it for future references.
  8. Application No. and Date of birth is required for makng payment,uploading of documents,checking application status e.t.c
  9. No document at this stage need to be submitted to BOPEE.
  10. Candidates can edit their submitted application form before the last date of the advertisement,in case of any difficulty please contact JKBOPEE.
