About GITAM University Admission Test

GITAM University, established in 1956, is one of India’s premier universities having 34 years of track record in teaching and research of global standards. The University is located in three picturesque campuses at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. With a multidisciplinary approach, the University offers 121 programs at UG, PG and Doctoral levels in diverse disciplines in Technology, Science, Pharmacy, Management, International Business, Architecture, Law and Humanities. GITAM Admission Test is a computer based online test conducted for admission to Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy programs for the academic year for its Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru Campuses.
The duration of the test is 2 hours. The test consists of three sections:
                  (i) Mathematics / Biology-40 Questions-120 Marks
                  (ii) Physics-30 Questions-90 Marks
                  (iii) Chemistry-30 Questions-90 Marks
 In total 100 Questions,300 Marks. All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions), each question has four options out of which one is correct answer. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks. 1 mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer. The unanswered questions will receive nil marks.

Eligibility

Pass in intermediate or 12th examination from a recognized central / state board or its equivalent either in Current or Previous and also rank obtained in GAT (UGTP), subject to the following criteria:

B.Tech. programs

A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry and first class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.

B.Tech. in Biotechnology

A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry and first class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.

B.Pharmacy

A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination with Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry subjects.

B.Arch

A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination  with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry subjects and also shall qualify in NATA / JEE (Main) paper - 2.

Application Process


On paper

  • Applications can be obtained by post from Director-Admissions by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate's name with complete mailing address accompanied by DD for Rs. 150/- drawn in favour of GITAM (Deemed to be University) payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank.

  • Request for applications by post will be accepted upto 30th March.

  • Applications are also available throughout India in selected branches of Union Bank of India, Indian Bank and Karur Vysya Bank.
