About Association of Managements of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges Entrance Exam

Association of Managements of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges (AMUPMDC) in Maharashtra, is the statutory body, which conducts the all India level medical entrance test every year. It is popularly known as ASSO CET. This Medical Common Entrance Test is conducted for admission into MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, B. PTh, B OTh and B. Sc-Nursing courses offered in all private Medical and Dental Colleges in the state of Maharashtra. Syllabus for this test is same as of HSC examination of Maharashtra State Board for Physics, Chemistry and Biology.  The ASSO-CET consists of one common question paper for the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) consisting of 200 Multiple Choice Question, 50 in Physics, 50 in Chemistry & 100 in Biology. Candidate is expected to attempt all the 200 questions. Out of four circles provided for selection of answers against a question, the candidate should fill-up one circle only. Each correct answer carries one mark, and there is no negative marking for wrong answers.

Eligibility

  • For Admissions to MBBS, BDS, B.Sc Nursing the candidate must be 17 years to be eligible to appear for Asso-CET.
  • For admission in MBBS, BDS or BAMS course, candidate belonging to open category must have obtained at least 50% marks and the reserved category candidate must have obtained at least 40% marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or Equivalent) Examination.
  • For admission in B.Sc - Nursing course, candidate belonging to open category must have obtained at least 45% marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together at the HSC (or Equivalent) Examination.
  • There is no fix minimum score required for BPTh, BoTh, BASLP, only passing HSC or equivalent examination is the necessity.

Application Process

  • Candidate have to fill the online application form available on ASSO-CET website. Also need to attach scanned copies of photograph and signature.
  • After filling application form, candidate should take printout of Bank Challan, to pay the fee by Cash towards the processing of application form & examination fee, in any Branch of State Bank of India in next two working days onwards, from the day of printing of challan.
  • Unique Application No./Username will be available on challan for processing of application form and examination fee and same details will be mailed to the Candidate on his given E-mail ID.
  • The candidate shall submit one and only one application form. In case candidate submits more than one application form, he/she shall be liable for disqualification for appearing for ASSO-CET

To secure a good rank in the entrance test it is very important to prepare thoroughly. It is recommended that students should obtain complete clarity on the examination pattern and then make a clear preparation plan. One should give themselves an entire year to prepare for the examination. Refer to previous years question papers, reference books and the help of coaching institute can also be taken for the preparation.
