Yashwantrao Chavan Law College, Karad(BVU)

Yashwantrao Chavan Law College, Karad or YCLC was established by Bharti Vidyapeeth University (BVU) in 2001.  It is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur.  The college offers one undergraduate course at the moment and around 49 trust based and non-college scholarships.  BVU has around 70,000 students of which around 60 join YCLC Karad every year.  It is known for its Law courses.  Admission to the college is subject to the marks received in 10+2.

Campus

Library
The library at Karad isn’t nearly as big as the libraries at other campuses of BVU. However, it makes up for its size in terms of infrastructure.  The library is a recent initiative, but it already possesses more than 15, 000 books and around 110 national and international journals.
Placement
The college provides placement and internship services in the form of moot courts and attending Lok Adalats.  Many law firms have recruited from the college.  The placement cell looks into development and training of graduates and also placement and internships for final year students and interns respectively.
Facilities
The college provides some of the following facilities:
    •  It provides special coaching for spoken and written English, personality development, and mentoring for competitive exams.
    •  Practical training ensures that students develop in all areas like negotiation, counselling, advocacy. The college also hones
        research skills by conducting moot courts and mock trial, interviewing, negotiation and mediation sessions in the college.
    •  Exposure to actual court proceeding by attending court, Lok Adalat, chambers of senior advocates, etc.
