WB National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS)

The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, also known as WBNUJS or NUJS, is located in the Salt Lake City of Kolkata, West Bengal. It offers around 2 undergraduate courses. The annual intake of the university is around 600 students. The university was established in 1999 and was adopted by the West Bengal Legislature in July, 1999. Admission into the university is based exclusively on performance in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The test is conducted in May and classes begin in August.

Ranking Explanation
NUJS Ranked as 3rd position in the category of Law for the Year 2015 also ranked as 4th In the Category of Law For The Year 2014 By Outlook.The college was ranked 4th for law courses in India by India Today magazine in the year 2013. It has moved 1 place down from its previous year’s ranking of 6th.
Campus
NUJS campus is located in the Salt Lake city of Kolkata overlooking the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass. It spans an area of five acres and comprises of an academic block, halls of residence and a few flats for the faculty. The university has a large library that subscribes to more than 120 journals and international publications such as the Journal of World Trade, International Legal Materials and Time. The library is Wi-Fi enabled and internet access is available on 21 computer terminals.
Halls of Residence
Separate halls of residence are provided for boys and girls. Both the halls of residence can together accommodate up to 500 students. Students have access to a mess that is managed by a mess committee comprising of students. A common dining area with television and sporting facilities is also present. The Registrar of the university is the Chief Warden of the halls of residence. There are resident wardens for the boy’s and girl’s halls of residence. Housekeeping, construction and building and room maintenance work is managed by the Campus Supervisor.
Placement
The Campus Recruitment Committee (CRC), which is a student run body, overlooks and co-ordinates the recruitment of the graduating batch of students of the NUJS and is solely authorized and responsible for communicating and coordinating between students sitting for Recruitment and Prospective Recruiters/ Recruiters. Organizations throughout the years, have expressed high levels of satisfaction with the recruitment programme organized by the CRC and students of NUJS continue to make a mark in the legal and commercial arenas.
NUJS graduates have always exceeded expectations and manage to combine a wide array of skills enabling them to satisfy employers as well as compete with the best talent in the world.
