Admission Criteria & Eligibility

Successful completion of the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE) (10+2) with overall grade in best four academic subjects where A1=5, A2=4.5, B1=3.5, B2=3.0, C1=2.0, C2:1.5, D1=1, D2=0.5, or successful completion of the Indian School Certificate Examination (10+2) awarded by the Indian Council of School Examinations (ICSE) with an overall percentage grade average in the best four externally examined subjects. Successful completion of the Higher Secondary School examinations from some state boards with a competitive pass may also be accepted.

The following is also recognised by UTS as meeting the English language requirements. 

  • UTS Insearch Academic English Level 5 (AE5) – “Pass” for courses with an English language admission requirement of IELTS 6.5 with 6.0 in writing (refer to English language result table below)
  • UTS Insearch Academic English Level 6 (AE6) – “Pass” for courses with an English language admission requirement of IELTS 7.0 with 7.0 in writing (refer to English language result table below)
  • High school English mark equal to or greater than 75% from Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, Norway or Switzerland
  • Australian TAFE (NSW) Certificate IV in English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE):
    • for courses requiring an IELTS academic overall score of 7.5 – Overall CPE score of 191 - 199
    • for courses requiring an IELTS academic overall score of 7.0 - Overall CPE score of 185 – 190
    • for courses requiring an IELTS academic overall score of 6.5  – Overall CPE score of 176 – 184
  • Successful completion of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program subjects English A: literature or English A: language and literature, where the Diploma Program was taught in a language other than English.
  • A result of level 4 or above in the core subject English in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.
