Admission Criteria & Eligibility

Applicants for bachelor's or master's degree programs need to apply for a Preliminary Documentation (VPD) via uni-assist. in addition to applyintg to TUM directly. You do not need the VPD when applying to Studienkolleg.

For certain degree courses you also need to provide a current GRE (Graduate Record Examination) or a current GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering).

GRE and GATE are internationally accepted, standardized graduate admission tests. Please note that when applying with a GRE, you need to provide the General Test - the Subject Test does not suffice.

Graduates with a degree from an Indian Institute of Technology do not need to provide a separate GATE. When applying for Studienkolleg, you do not need to provide a GATE or GRE.
