Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University or SRM University is a privately owned deemed institution located in Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu. The SRM University, Ramapuram houses the Dental and the Engineering Colleges and also houses the faculty for Engineering and Technology.  The college at Ramanapuram offers close to 8 undergraduate courses. The university was granted deemed status in 2004. The university began as an Engineering college in 1985.  The college is known for Business Administration and Computer Science studies.  The university offers close to 47 trust-based and non college scholarships.  Admission to the university is through a qualification exam, held by the university itself. However, the university also accepts national tests scores for certain streams.

SRM University Ranked As 46th,27th and 22nd Positions in the Categories of Engineering & Technology, HealthCare and Medicine for the Year 2018 By NIRF. SRM University has been ranked as 5th best college in India for Business Administration and Computer Science & Technology studies, by India Today’s poll on ‘best colleges in India 2016’. The rankings for the subjects were only introduced in 2012.  The college is not easy to get into and one has to appear for an entrance test held by the university to be eligible, except a select few courses which also consider all India level exam scores.
Location
This college of SRM University is located in Ramapuram, Chennai.  The campus here houses the Dental and the Engineering colleges.  This location is about 40 kms from the main campus in Kattankulathur.
Sports
The university has high tech sports and recreational facilities on campus.  There are dedicated facilities for tennis, basketball, badminton, yoga and even horse-riding.  Students regularly take part in many inter-college competitions, and many teams and individuals have won many laurels for SRM University in the past.  The university encourages sports among students.
Library
The university has one of the most well maintained and spacious libraries in India.  It is located in a 15-storey university administrative block, and it spreads out over 3+ floors.  It is 1.50 Lakh sq ft in area. The library building is:

     •    Well protected with fire alarms and CCTV security systems

Facilities

Hostel for Men and Women
It's the first time for most students coming to live in hostel, and our accommodation facilities at the Ramapuram Campus are designed with this in mind. Fostering a student-friendly atmosphere, our hostels provide the right ambience for learning, growing and making new friends. There are separate hostels for men and women, with all the necessary facilities.
Air Conditioned Auditorium
The campus has an air conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 750. The auditorium is equipped with public added system and in built amplifier speakers. An open auditorium with a seating capacity of 3000 is attached to the auditorium. The campus is also housed with three air conditioned Seminar Halls with a seating capacity of 200 each.
