RV College of Engineering (RVCE)

Rasthreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering or RV College of Engineering or RVCE is a privately owned technological training institute.  It is located in Bangalore.  It was set up by Sivananda Sarma and Meda Kasturiranga Setty of Rashtriya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST) in 1963.  The college offers around 12 undergraduate courses and is home to around 5,000 students, and it is affiliated to the Visvesveraya Tecnological University, Belgaum.  Admission to the institute is through the K-CET or COMEDK-UGT.  The institute is known for excellence in technological education.

RV College has been ranked as the 35th best college in India for engineering studies by Outlook Magazine, in their poll on top engineering colleges in India for 2015 also Ranked 10th in the Category of Architecture For the year 2015 By India Today Magazine.  However, the college has featured in the top 50 from 2009, save 2010 when it did not feature on the list at all.  The college admits students on the basis of their ranks in the K-CET or COMEDK-UGT.
Facilities
The campus is spread over 53 acres of green fields, on the banks of the Vrishabhavati River in Bangalore.  The campus has a building for each undergraduate department, with the exception of certain departments like Biotechnology and Information Science.  The college also has a post office, a fully equipped canteen, Wi-Fi enabled campus, and a library which boasts of more than 70,000 books and close to 2700 journals and write ups.
Hostels
The college has four hostels on campus.  The hostels on campus are exclusively for boys.  They are designated to students on the basis of their year of study.  The Cauvery Hostel is for the first year students, the Diamond Jubilee Block hostel is for the second year students, the Chamundi block is for the third year students and the Sir. M. Visvesvaraya Block is for final year students.  The college and the managing RSST manage four other hostels in Jayanagar, J.P. Nagar and Rajarajeshwari Nagar meant exclusively for the girls.
Placement
The RVCE placement department looks into the campus placements and has been doing so continuously since its establishment as a separate entity in the year 1997.  The placement department at the college is well renowned, and some of the main recruiters include
