Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai

SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed to be University (as per UGC Norms), one of the premier Universities of Higher Studies in India, has completed 36 years of its existence in the year 2017-18. NMIMS established in the year 1981 as Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, began its journey by offering a masters degree program in management studies, a course of the University of Mumbai with an intake of only 40 students and 4 full time faculty

Today, NMIMS is one of the fastest growing and the top, private University in the country. It has undergone a tremendous transformation since its commencement. Today, it stands as a large imposing University with 14 specialized schools plus 5 off-Campus operations, with an intake of over 12000 students and over 513 full time faculty members. From its temporary location at Bhaidas Auditorium, NMIMS has moved to a large complex of over 40000 sq feet where it stands today as a landmark in Vile Parle, an affluent suburb of Mumbai.

Mumbai Campus
The campus spans an area of 40,000 square feet of built up area. The institute has seven schools in its ambit. Each school operates as an independent business unit and has its own separate infrastructure. Each school has lecture rooms, seminar halls, conference halls, libraries, MDP centres and air-conditioned computer centres that are equipped with multimedia and other instructional hardware.

Academy Of Aviaition
NMIMS Academy of Aviation Located at SHIRPUR, Maharashtra, offering a 2 years course in Aviaition. 
The Academy has a ready infrastructure consisting of:
  • A 1200 metre long runway (09/27) is well maintained and has ample scope for further expansion.
  • Trainers are Competent and highly experienced Flying Instructors backed by an experienced and team of Maintenance Engineers and Technicians are already at the Academy.
  • Modern Infrastructure with latest on ground training facilities in class rooms, computer room, library, cafeteria, lounge and reception.
  • Commitment: To train an individual upto him/her obtaining Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA.
  • Qualification Obtained by Trainees: Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL).
Cost of Training at Academy of Aviation is Rs.26.70 Lakhs  all inclusive cost of training
PPL COURSE – Rs. 7.00 lakhs.
Shirpur Campus
SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed to be University’s Mumbai Campus is conveniently located at JVPD Scheme, close to the Domestic and International Terminals of the airport in the financial and commercial capital of the country, Mumbai. It has 9 Schools and 1 center of excellence (viz. IIPS) in its ambit with each School operating like an independent business unit and having its separate infrastructure.
In Shirpur Campus college is offering 3 majors;

Classrooms
All classrooms in the University are air-conditioned and have ceiling mounted LCDs. Most classrooms have a capacity of 60. In addition, the University has a well equipped seminar hall and a conference hall.
Asian Paints Computer Centre
The Computer center is equipped with branded personal computers adequately supported by 3mbps shared leased line for Internet connectivity. It is also equipped with a wide range of licensed system software and applications software. The entire campus is connected with Wi-Fi network.
 
Library - The R. M. Desai Library Learning Resource Centre
 
    The well furnished and air conditioned NMIMS library has a stock of more than 42,000 volumes and subscribes to about 308 Indian and Foreign periodicals spanning all aspects of management. The library also houses 521 video’s, 319 audio’s, 187 CD’s, 274 VCD’s, annual reports, management games, news clippings, newsletters and case studies.
    The library is a member of BCL (British Council Library), AIRC (American Information Resource Centre), BMA (Bombay Management Association), MANLIBNET (Management Library Network), AVEHI (Audio Video Edu Resource Centre), Advance Standard Council of India and ECCH (European Case Clearing House Ltd).
 
MDP Hall
 
 NMIMS houses a state-of-the-art Management Development Programme (MDP) hall.
The Audio Interactive Language Lab
NMIMS has pioneered the initiative of scientifically assisting students in preparing for Group Discussions or Job Interviews by developing an Audio Interactive Language Lab on the campus. This move is mainly directed towards making the students display the right internal personality driven message to their recruiters during a corporate placement, group discussions or interviews.

Library
The main library of the institute is named R. M. Desai Library Learning Resource Centre.  Each school also has its own well furnished and air-conditioned library. R. M. Desai Library has a total stock of more than 47,000 volumes and subscribes to more than 300 Indian and International periodicals covering all aspects of management. In addition, 320 audios, 520 videos, 275 VCDs, 190 CDs along with annual reports, news clippings, management games, case studies and newsletters are also provided. The library follows an open access system to facilitate free use of books.
