Nagarathnamma Meda Kasturiranga Setty Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College for Women - NMKRV College for Women, managed by the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samiti Trust, Bangalore is the beautiful campus, gifted by the natural greenery and beauty. It provides a conducive and congenial environment for academic pursuits.

The college that was started as a Pre-University College in 1971 with just 150 students has grown in leaps and bounds. In 1973, it was bifurcated as the NMKRV Degree College for Women. Based on the Goals of the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust, the vision of the college is to ‘Educate, Enrich & Empower’ students. Since its inception, the college has maintained its mission to educate and enrich the first generation learners to meet the challenges of the growing world. The founders believed in the dictum ‘Educating a girl child is like educating the entire family’. The College that started with a meager strength of 150 students, has grown as an edifice of educational excellence with more than 2000 students and 150 Teaching Faculties. At present the College offers Fourteen Undergraduate and Five Postgraduate programmes in different streams.

Campus

Counselling Centre
The college offers the facility of a Counselling Centre. The centre offers students guidance and helps them enhance self esteem and confidence. The Counselling Centre is formed by experts who can help students make important decisions. The counsellors are not teachers hence it is okay for some student to discuss some problem with the faculty, as this will be kept confidential from them.
Placement
  • The center conducts career guidance programmes to enlighten the students about the job market and the necessary skills for employability. 
  • The Placement Center coordinator and team member interacts with and invites potential employers for campus placement. Those companies which approach the institution for placement are invited after a back ground screening.
  • The placement team member informs the HODs of the concerned departments with potential job seekers for the given job.
  • The students are made aware of the employment opportunities and vacancies that arise in various organizations through the notice board and through the departments.
  • Students are also directed to the respective institutions and firms if the recruitment is conducted outside the campus.
  • The placement center is in constant touch with various employers and invites them for Campus Interview. The center attends for increasing the employee ability of the learners.
  • The Placement Center maintains an up-to-date data base of all outgoing students, to facilitate access to prospective employers. It has also initiated campus based interviews with great success. 
  • In the last five years, more than 350 students have got placement in reputed institutions like WIPRO, HP, Fidelity, Greet Technologies, IBM, TCS, JP Morgan, Northern Trust, ICICI, Reliance, TCS, Colleges, and so forth with the help of placement Center.
