Lincoln University

With its beginnings as an agricultural college in 1878, Lincoln became a university in its own right in 1990 and is now known as New Zealand's specialist land-based university. Lincoln University is situated on a 58-hectare campus less than 30 minutes drive from the center of Christchurch. The campus has a mix of modern and traditional buildings, surrounded by trees and open spaces and a staff to student ratio of 1:14. Lincoln University is world renowned in land-based areas such as agriculture and agricultural science, tourism management, viticulture and oenology, environmental management, and landscape architecture. Lincoln University has continued to develop a range of quality and internationally recognized study options at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Lincoln enjoys a very multicultural campus with over 1,800 International students from 65 different countries. An International Center was established in 1993 to provide special support for international students. The University is proud of its history in meeting the needs of its international students.
