Institute of Technology, Nirma University

Institute of Technology, Nirma University, earlier known as Nirma Institute of Technology, started in 1995 by Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF), was the first self-financed engineering college in Gujarat. Within 18 years of inception, Institute of Technology is a leading hub of education, offering multidisciplinary undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. programmes in engineering.

The institute is  ranked within top 25 self-financed engineering colleges of India in the survey conducted by various rating agencies. The faculty members and students of the Institute have won many prestigious awards and bring laurels to the institute.

The Institute is located in peaceful and sylvan surroundings of Ahmedabad city in the heart of Gujarat. The Institute provides disciplined, serene and conducive environ for reflection, repose and research. The Campus is overwhelmed with lush green sceneries masking the concrete beneath.

Library
The institute’s library is fully automated and has specialised user-friendly software called Alice for Windows (AfW). Electronic resources such as CDs, DVDs, Bar-code Scanners, Multimedia Kits, Text and Graphic Scanners are available at the library. Students can also access internet from computer terminals.
Hostel & Other Facilities
The campus spans more than 100 acres of land and hosts hostels for students. The hostel rooms are fully wired with over 1200 desktop computers connected through fibre optic network. The college also has a computer lab with more than 20 servers and 14000 systems connected through LAN. Other facilities include:

Placement

Computing Facility

We at Nirma University envision the Information Technology not only as critical infrastructure needed for supporting academic needs but also as a central component of the teaching learning process itself.Various ICT tools are used across the University with the support of the following computing facilities:

  •      More than 20 Servers & 1400+ systems are connected to the LAN
  •      12 Mbps Full Duplex Fiber Optic internet facility is available in the campus for 24 hours Internet facility
  •      The campus LAN is connected via Fiber Optic cables and Wi-Fi facilities available at some points
  •      Online Library facilites for access of various online reading material
  •      Nearly every contemporary software and developing platforms is made available to the students
  •      Email id’s and web site updation profiles are provided to all students and faculties
  •      ICT tools and instruments are being widely used for interactive teaching learning process.

Laboratory

All laboratories are well equipped with state of art equipments, which not only cater to UG and PG programmes, but are also very useful for testing and consultancy projects. The details are available in respective departments.

Hostel Accommodation

     Limited accommodation is available for PG Students.     

Transport

A fleet of 35 buses to and fro for transporting students and staff from different locations in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar everyday.
