IHM, Hyderabad

Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition was established in the year 1972 as a registered society under the State Technical Education Department. It was sponsored by the Government of India and Government of Andhra Pradesh. It was upgraded into the Institute of Hotel Management in 1984. In 1986, it was affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management, Catering Technology, New Delhi, an autonomous body set up by the Ministry of Tourism & Culture, Govt. of India. The institute currently offers only one course. It is well known for Hospitality, Tourism and Events. Admission to the institute is based on marks scored in the joint entrance examination conducted by the National Council, followed by centralised counselling for allotment of seats.

Facilities
Hostel: Hostel Seats will be allocated during counselling through an automated process on the basis of rank and reservation. Leftover hostel seats will be allotted on First-cum- First Serve basis after the counselling. There is a facility to provide private dedicated hostels in the vicinity of the Institute (2 minutes walking distance). These hostels have been catering to the I-year students of IHM exclusively since many years satisfactorily. Hostel Rules & Regulations of IHM are also applicable to the private hostels. IHM will facilitate admissions to the private hostels if required by the students. All hostels provide North Indian and South Indian food.
