H.R. College Affiliated to the prestigious University of Mumbai, since its inception in 1960H.R. College of Commerce & Economics has an enrollment of more than 6000 students in its degree as well as in its junior college, with an equal number of boys and girls.Emphasis on faculty development, academia-industry linkages, internationalization and on student empowerment.The College has achieved excellent academic standards, while simultaneously creating opportunities for the all around development of students through sports and cultural activities. By transferring the responsibility of learning on to the learner, the College empowers students and fosters young leaders.H.R. College was the first college in Maharashtra to be accredited 'A' grade with a score of 87.95% by the NAAC (National Assessment & Accreditation Council) under the revised scheme for 2002. In 2008, HR College was awarded an 'A' Grade by NAAC once again with a CGPA of 3.46; NAAC has awarded H.R. College with a CGPA of 3.72 on a scale of 4, the highest CGPA in India under the revised scheme and the highest score in Maharashtra till date.

Awards and Rankings
The H.R. College team received the award under the Graduate College category on 5th March, 2016 at the Higher Education Forum (HEF) 7th Annual Convention held at Durgadevi Saraf Institute of Management Studies, Malad. Also Ranked 15th Position In the category of Commerce Courses For the Year 2016 By India Today Magazine.H.R. College was awarded the Best College by the University of Mumbai for 2010-2011. The institution was recognized for its leadership potential, its teaching excellence, its innovative learner-centric approach and its strong international linkages.
Placement Cell
The Placement Cell goes beyond providing final placements by engaging with companies on various fronts namely, Internship Drives for first year and second year students, and Article assistance for the aspiring CAs.
The college strongly encourages the students to pursue at least one corporate internship as well as one NGO internship in the three years of their degree programme. Thus the cell strives to get Summer Internship programmes to college by the top corporates. Few of the companies that look forward to hire interns from the college are, Ernst & Young, Reliance, Deloitte, TATA Group, KPMG etc.
In the academic year 2017-18, H.R. College has welcomed 85+ companies for hiring interns and has successfully placed 177 students in their choice of internship programmes. Internships have been in various fields like Marketing, Human Resource, Management, Finance, Sales and Content Writing.
Facilities
Laboratory - The college has well-equipped computer labs almost on each floor. These are utilised for conducting computer practicals, ICT - Certificate Courses and assisting faculty and students in research and project preparation. The computer labs have been completely modernised. The internet facilities in the labs are Wi-Fi enabled.

Library - The College has a well-equipped, open access library with an air-conditioned reading room and language lab. The library has adopted the latest software and has a large collection of books, journals, magazines and audio-visual resources.
