Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology (GTBIT)

Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology (GTBIT) was established in 1999 by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), which is running a large number of educational institutes, besides carrying out large number of religious and social activities. GTBIT is a degree level technical institute, approved by AICTE and affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. This university was established by Government of NCT of Delhi under provisions of Guru Gobind Singh University Act, 1998 read with its Amendment in 1999. It is affiliating and teaching University. It is recognised by University Grant Commission, India under section 12B of UGC Act. It has also been accredited " A Grade" by NAAC.

Placement

 GTBIT has been conscious of its obligation towards the placement of the students. Our placement cell, which is headed by a senior faculty member, is further strengthening this activity by way of regular industrial visits of the students and a continuous interaction with industries and business houses.The thrust of the Training and Placement department is towards providing the students a platform for interaction with the corporate world and also to help improve the all-round personality of the students. These aims are achieved through lectures, workshops, seminars, information about career opportunities, aptitude tests, communication enhancement lectures, group discussions, interviews, pre-placement talks, debates, preparing professional curriculum vitae etc.


Facilities
Computing Facilities:
The Computing Facilities comprise of 8 state of the art labs : Programming labs, Operating Systems lab, Internet & Networking labs, Electronics Computer Aided Design lab and the Multimedia lab. The labs are equipped with 550 machines of latest configuration. The recent developments include installation of two hundred new P-IV computers in the labs. All the labs are internally networked and inter-connected to each other to form a LAN. The centre has twelve 6 KVA UPS (72 KVA) to provide reliability in case of power failure.
Sports:
Sports form an indispensable part of education because not only do they help in the maintenance of the physical fitness of the students but also teach them the true essence of sportsmanship i.e. an attitude to strive for fair play, courtesy towards teammates and opponents, ethical behaviour and integrity
Ample of facilities for outdoor sports like cricket, football, volley ball and basketball are provided which help the students to test their physical endurance.
Library:
GTBIT library has a well equipped library with a collection of more than 53,000 books. Apart from books library also subscribes a large number of national and international online and print journals, wide variety of magazines, newspapers and non-book materials. GTBIT library support the teaching, research and extension programmes of the Institute. All Student, Faculty and Staff members are entitled to make use of the library facilities on taking library membership. Library aims to provide wide and efficient library and information services to the users.
Cafeteria:
The cafeteria not only provides the best quality nutritious food to invigorate the students but also a vivid ambiance which helps in the development of their interpersonal skills.The food served is prepared in highly hygienic conditions and is made available at very low and reasonabe prices. The cafeteria has a capcity to hold more than 100 students at a time and is also provided with a suitable seating arrangement.
