College of Ayurved, Pune (BVDU)

Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University College of Ayurved, also simply known as College of Ayurved, Pune, was established in the year 1990. This college is the pioneer Ayurved College in Maharashtra to start Ayurved education in English medium. The college is approved by Central Council of Indian Medicine [CCIM] & Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi. It has also been accredited by NAAC, Bangalore and received ‘A’ Grade. This is one of the few institutes in India that offers post graduate courses in all the 14 departments with 57 intake capacity along with 100 intake capacity per year for undergraduate courses.

It offers an undergraduate course in BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery). Admission to this course is based on the CET entrance exam. Classes commence from July onwards.

Infrastructure
The college is spread across an abundant area (62,262 sq. ft.) which is segmented in well ventilated classrooms, spacious departments with well equipped laboratories. It also has a NSS room, store, student support cell, ladies’ room, boy’s room, sports room, conference hall, administrative office, examination section & principal’s cabin. Campus amenities include a lavish auditorium, huge sports ground and excellent gymnasium.

The college also owns an Ayurvedic hospital with 200-bed strength. The OPD & IPD attract a huge number of patients, facilitating students to get better clinical exposure.
Library
The college houses a well-equipped and spacious library. Students make the best use of the library facilities to fulfill their academic and research requirements. The books range from thousands of years old classics up to latest editions of modern medical volumes. Peer reviewed journals & standard periodicals are obtained and added to the previous collection. Dissertations of PG students and thesis of Ph.D. holders are maintained properly for the reference of new researchers. The silent and peaceful atmosphere of the library ensures a studious ambience.
 
Hostel
The hostel facility is provided for both boys as well as girls. Both hostel buildings are located in the beautiful and spacious campus, secured by internal security guards. The boy’s hostel building is just in front of the college building at a distance of around 100 meters. The ladies hostel building is at nearly 250 meters away from the college.
Each student is provided with a table, a chair, a cupboard & a cot. Two to three students are staying in every room. Both the hostels have the following common facilities:
     •    Mess to all students in each hostel.
     •    Aqua guard filtered drinking water at each floor
     •    Water cooler at each floor
     •    Solar system for 24 hours hot water supply
     •    Special security watchmen for 24 hours
     •    Smart card system
     •    TV hall and TT hall
     •    Waiting room for parents and visitors
     •    Adequate and maintained toilets and bathrooms
     •    Separate sectors for each of hostels.
