Christian Medical College, Ludhiana

The Christian Medical College – Ludhiana – is an educational and research institution and is run by the minority Christian community. The college started offering courses in MBBS from 1953. More than 2000 candidates have graduated from this college since then. It offers around 4 courses at the undergraduate level in M.B.B.S., B.D.S., B.Sc. Nursing and Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Around 75 seats are available for the undergraduate courses. Admission to the courses is through the medical entrance test conducted through the college known as the Under Graduate Admission Written Test (UG-AWT). The test is conducted in the month of May. The results are declared in June and classes commence in August.

The College Ranked as 3rd position in the category of Medicine Courses for the Year 2018 By NIRF. The college is considered one of the top colleges in India for Medicine. It has been ranked as the 13th best college in Medicine. The college is always mentioned in every top 10 college list. Naturally, admission is tough and only the best get into the medicine courses.

Library
The Christian Medical College library consists of books and journals of clinical science and other related subjects of medical and dental practice. There is also a huge collection of nursing books. The library subscribes both national and international journals in addition to the textbooks of basic and clinical sciences. A library is open for around 14 hours a day.
 
Hostel
The college hostel is available for both male and female students. A single warden is in-charge of both the hostels. Vegetarian and non- vegetarian meals are served in the hostel mess. There is a recreation room in the hostel where students watch televisions. The students' council helps the warden in the smooth running of the hostel and makes necessary suggestions wherever applicable.
Facilities
The college has various facilities for its students including outdoor and indoor games like basketball, volleyball, throw ball, cricket badminton, table tennis, carrom and chess.  College teams have participated in various university tournaments. An annual athletic meet is also organised every year with participation from various medical, dental and nursing colleges.
College Activities
Students are encouraged to display their talents through various intra and inter collegiate events. These events serve as platforms for recognition of new talents and develop a spirit of healthy competition among the students in the field of sports, music, literature, debates, dramatics and arts. Religious and nationally significant days are celebrated with much enthusiasm in the college.
