Dr. Abdul Kalam scholarship

Named after the famous Indian scientist and aeronautical engineer Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who has also served as the president of India, this scholarship is awarded by the University of Sydney, Australia, for any international student who has received an offer to pursue an undergraduate program in engineering and IT streams. The applicants are also required to have a year 12 qualification from Australia or an international senior secondary qualification accepted by the university along with an ATAR rank not below than 98. ATAR stands for Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank.

Sir Ratan Tata merit scholarship

Offered for both undergraduate as well as graduate students, this scholarship is awarded by the Sir Ratan Tata Trust and Navajbai Ratan Tata trust. This scholarship is offered for only those students, who are willing to pursue courses in architecture, catering and hotel management, fine arts or law.

Anant Merit Scholarship

The Anant Education Initiative offers scholarships for undergraduate students all over India with a preference for students with disabilities and those with low income groups. The students should also have passed their 12th examinations with an aggregate of 70%.

Fair and Lovely Scholarship for women

It is a merit based scholarship offered by the Fair and Lovely Foundation,. It is specially awarded to female students who are willing to pursue several courses including architecture, art & design, medicine, business, management, computer science and IT.

Students who apply to this scholarship are required to have secured 60% marks in their 10th and 12th exams and should be Indian citizens. There is no age limit for the applicants.

Indian Oil scholarship for engineering

This scholarship is offered by the petroleum giant Indian Oil. A merit based scholarship, it’s offered only for 300 undergraduate students each year who are willing to pursue engineering.

Apart from pursuing full time and regular courses of engineering, they are also required to have secured admission in the first year in any recognized engineering college. The age limit for this scholarship is 30 years.

GP Birla educational scholarship

This scholarship is offered by the GP Birla Educational Foundation and is a merit based scholarship. Students with at least 90% marks in any state or central board, and in need of financial help to pursue their studies are eligible for this scholarship.

There are several more scholarships which are sought by students all across India. It’s necessary to know in detail about all the requirements before applying for any scholarship. Even if the scholarship seems not to cover complete expenses for study, it may still be a huge help for students and will lessen their financial burden.
