Workshops by universities, counselling sessions, career workshops and many such activities conducted in the school ensure that the student gets enough exposure from various avenues and receive clarity on his queries regarding choices of streams and careers.

Career Fair

The Career Fair was an informative event to learn more about the colleges the students’ are interested in and talk to the people with the first-hand experience. The students discover new colleges that were not on their radar, are able to narrow down their shortlist, find out more about scholarships, save money to visit each campus, etc.

Career Fair - Indian Universities

A Career Fair was organised at Sat Paul Mittal Scool, Ludhiana, by Univariey on October 18th 2018. Representatives of Universities like SRM University , Istituto Marangoni (the school of Fashion,Art & Design) - Italy & Mumbai, Ashoka University, Indian School of Business & Finance, Indian School of hospitality , Shiv Nadar, OP Jindal, ISDI/ISME - Mumbai,UPES visited the fair and interacted with more than 400 parents as well as students on different aspects of college admissions. The career fair targeted students from 10th to 12th class across. The students were also felicitated with the certificates by delegates of the Universities for actively participating at the career fair.

Michigan State University

Delegate from Michigan State University came and interacted with the students of class 11th and 12th regarding their courses and various other things that make a happy and an enriched student life. It was an eye-opening session and the students got to learn a lot.

Student Journey Walkthrough

Portal Walkthrough and Student Journey session was conducted for Grade X. The session infused curiosity in students by talking about specific careers, and how to read more about them. It also revolved around searching for specific colleges, reading about their admission procedures, eligibility criteria, and scholarships. The students were asked to complete at least four activities of the first Milestone.

Profile Completion - Grade IX

Students of Grade IX completed their profiles by logging in to the Univariety portal and recording their strongest and weakest subjects, which can later be the base for their career selections. Following this, Student Journey was explained to them, which is a roadmap of activities for students to find their best-suited careers.

Pro-Parenting Workshop

Univariety conducted a Pro-Parenting Workshop for the Parents and the Students of Grade IX, X and XI. The main agenda was to help parents & students - Understand what India & the world’s TOP colleges REALLY look for at the time of Admissions and give them exposure to top Indian & Global Non-Academic Programs. It also talked about creating a personalized sample roadmap for their child with our experts. The facilitator further explained how Promap is Focused and Achievement-Oriented Profile Building. And will help them in College Admissions, Overall exposure and Perspective Building, and Scholarships.

Careers in Engineering, Commerce and Medicine - Class 9th and 10th Students + Parents

As a part of the Career Guidance journey, a workshop was conducted at the School for Class 9th and 10th students on the different Streams and different Subject Combinations which the students can take after completing their 10th Grade. Choosing the right Stream with the correct set of Subject Combination- Is the first step towards achieving one's Dream. The session was very interactive. Lot of questions were asked by the students regarding the different career options apart from the traditional ones.

Cyber Security Workshop

Sat Paul Mittal school's mission of creating technologically fluent Satyans has always been a priority. The school celebrated a cyber fest from 24th - 28th Jul 2017. Mr. Arjun Soni, an internationally renowned author and ethical hacker apprised Satyans about the entire gamut of cyber security related information. He exposed the intricacies of cyber defirmation, cyber bullying and cyber stalking. The workshop was followed by an interactive session between the teachers, students and the speaker.

Workshop on Choices of Different Streams

As a part of the Career Guidance journey, a workshop was conducted at the School for Class 10th students on the different Streams and different Subject Combinations which the students can take after completing their 10th Grade. Career Workshop-Humanities

The Career Day on Humanities is a slideshow session conducted by a proficient facilitator at school. The session is essentially targeted for students for Grade 11 & 12, who has made selections of streams as Humanities. Students of Grade 9 & 10 who has selected stream early on can also attend. Students should be the ones who has taken a decision to pursue courses in Humanities or may be at the threshold of making a decision and want to get few of their dilemmas settled. It also helps the student identify if they are the right fit to pursue courses in Humanities. Student would be able to weigh out their options, career prospects before making a choice. Introduction to some of the top colleges and their admission process is also provided to keep the students mentally prepared ahead of the admission timeline.

Indian School of Design & Innovation (ISDI) helps young minds discover their creativity and imagination through a unique program that combines engaging exercises and collaborative projects. SPM Youth Representation at the University Guidance Conference 2017

Anoushka Thapar was appointed as a panelist at the The Youth Ministry at UGC 2017. Anoushka spoke on the topic "Should schools introduce internships as part of main stream curriculum?" and was felicitated by Prof. Rao (Director, IIT Delhi). The youth Ministry is the only platform of its kind in the country that brings together some of the most dynamic students of the country to discuss and debate a topic related to Higher Education, in the presence of hundreds of principals and counsellors from India's top schools and delegates from reputed Universities across the globe.

Apex Advisory at the UGC 2017

With a mission to provide an opportunity to express, explore, network, learn and materialize future perspectives, the University Guidance Conference was held at Hotel Sahara Star in Mumbai. The largest professional development platform for high schools across the country. It was indeed an honour for Sat Paul Mittal School to have Ms. Bhupinder Gogia, Principal (Sat Paul Mittal School) to represent the school as the Apex Advisor the UGC 2017. Mrs. Gogia, in her address to the Indian and International University officials and the school fraternity mentioned that the exigent demands of future jobs has made Guidance and higher education counselling an integral part of the curriculum. She highlighted the need for one to be on the right career track coupled with an appropriate set of skills to flourish outright.
