Istituto Marangoni (Milano,Firenze,Paris,London)

Istituto Marangoni was founded in 1935 in Milano as ‘Istituto Artistico dell’Abbigliamento Marangoni’ and in 2015 it reaches a special milestone, 80 years of history and success in training the top professionals of Fashion and Design. Istituto Marangoni can praise itself for the education of four generations of students from 5 continents and for having  launched over 45,000 professionals in fashion and luxury fields, such as Domenico Dolce (Dolce & Gabbana) and Franco Moschino. It currently educates 4,000 students per year from 106 countries at its schools, located in Milano (the School of Fashion and the School of Design), Paris, London and Shanghai, the international capitals of fashion, design and luxury. In October 2016 Istituto Marangoni will open a new school in Firenze, a meeting place between fashion, art and design.

Admission Criteria & Eligibility

Among the main requirements for candidates applying to our fashion, art and design schools are academic qualifications and any other academic references. In addition it is advisable to schedule an orientation meeting during which candidates will be interviewed about their previous experiences, aspirations, language skills and real potential for growth. The programmes in English language are subject to specific levels of English proficiency.

Students requiring a Tier 4 General visa to study in the UK will be required to present IELTS for UKVI (academic) test results. Due to new immigration changes, all applicants will need to have a valid IELTS for UKVI (academic) taken after April 6th 2015.

All applicants will be informed within 15 working days whether their application has been accepted. Any unsuccessful applicants will also receive feedback within the same time-frame.

A selection process will be required for Three years courses/ BA Hons Degree (starting in October 2017) and Masters courses; the Admissions Office of your school will give you all the details during the enrollment process.

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES
FOUNDATION COURSE

  1. completed application form;
  2. signed personal statement;
  3. 2 passport-size photos;
  4. notarized copy of High School Diploma or equivalent certificate and its official translation into English, if in a language different than English;
  5. copy of a personal passport;
  6. Non-native English speakers need to provide a copy of an official English Language Certificate: The English language test score should be at least B1 on the CEFR level – IELTS overall score of 5.0 with no elements below 4.5* only for the London School of Fashion.

THREE-YEAR COURSES · BA (HONS) DEGREES

  1. completed application form (for BA [Hons] degrees either on UCAS www.ucas.com/students/apply/ or directly);
  2. signed personal statement;
  3. 2 passport-size photos;
  4. copy of a high-school diploma or school certificates (for the three-year courses); or
  5. notarized copy of high-school diploma or equivalent certificate** and its official translation in English, if in a language different from English (for the BA (Hons) degree courses at the London and Paris schools); ** Candidates must meet a specific standard of study (that can be checked on www.mmu.ac.uk/international, indicating country of education). Students from the UK are required to have a minimum of 80 UCAS Tariff Points (or equivalent), for example: 2 A-Levels BB or 3 A-Levels CDD and a GCSE pass in English (or equivalent). French students are required to have a baccalauréat. Italian students must have a high-school diploma. All students who pass the Foundation Year in Milano, or the Foundation Year in London (in partnership with Study Group), are also eligible to progress.
  6. copy of a personal passport;
  7. non-native English speakers need to provide a copy of an official English language certificate: the English language test score should be at least B2 at CEFR level – IELTS overall score of 6.0 with no elements below 5.5* – only for the Paris and London Schools;
  8. completion of an entry test;
  9. an aptitude interview (only for AFAM courses recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education);
  10. applicants of creative programmes are requested to submit 6 self-produced Creative Ideas: these can be anything that visually describes their inspiration and the area of study that they have chosen. They can be submitted in the form of sketches, drawings, photographs, moodboards and collages (the 6 creative ideas might also be a mix of these);
